What Is Ear Candling?

Ear candling is a centuries-old natural remedy that uses a hollow, cone-shaped candle to create a low-level vacuum that draws out excess earwax and debris. As the candle burns, warm air and smoke gently travel into the ear canal, softening buildup and helping to create a soothing sense of lightness and release.

Benefits of Ear Candling

Clients report feeling:

  • ear congestion or sinus pressure
  • hearing clarity and reduced ear ringing
  • nervous system and reduced stress
  • relaxation and balance

While results may vary, many people find ear candling to be a restorative experience—especially when paired with other wellness treatments.

Is Ear Candling Safe?

Yes—when performed by a trained professional like our team at TSCB. We follow strict safety and sanitation protocols, never inserting anything directly into the ear. Our method is gentle, relaxing, and performed in a calming environment designed to help you unwind.

Who Is This For?

You may benefit from Ear Candling if:

  • You struggle with excess earwax
  • You suffer from frequent sinus congestion or allergies
  • You experience pressure from flying or changing altitudes
  • You're seeking natural remedies for stress and tension

❗ Not recommended if you have ear tubes, perforated eardrums, or an ear infection. Always consult your provider first.

What to Expect During Your Session

You’ll lie comfortably on your side in a calm, dim room

  • A specialized ear candle will be placed gently at the entrance of your ear canal
  • The candle is lit and allowed to burn slowly while the technician monitors it the entire time
  • You may hear a soft crackling or feel gentle warmth
  • After each ear, we’ll clean the area and recommend post-care

We offer 30 or 60-minute sessions, depending on how much needs to be removed. In 30 minutes sessions you gets 1 candle per ear, while in 60-minute sessions you get 2 candles per ear.

How Should I Prepare?

  • Avoid using ear drops or oils prior to your appointment
  • Remove earrings and avoid heavy hair products that may interfere
  • Arrive relaxed and ready to unwind
  • Bring any questions or concerns—we’ll take care of the rest

Aftercare

  • Stay hydrated
  • Avoid swimming or water in the ears for 24 hours
  • Don’t insert cotton swabs or fingers
  • If you feel sensitive afterward, rest and apply a warm compress

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it hurt?

Not at all. Most clients find it extremely relaxing, and many fall asleep during the session.

Is this an alternative to ear cleaning?

Ear candling is not a medical procedure and shouldn’t replace necessary cleanings or treatments by a healthcare professional. However, it is a helpful, soothing wellness practice to support your overall ear health.

How often should I get this done?

It depends on your needs. For some, a seasonal session (4x a year) is enough. Others enjoy it monthly as part of their wellness routine.

Will I see anything come out?

You may be shown the contents of the candle afterward. While some believe this represents extracted wax, most of the residue is from the candle itself. The benefits are mostly felt in pressure relief and relaxation.

Feel light, clear, and recentered

Whether you're seeking a moment of calm or relief from congestion, ear candling offers a unique experience that soothes both body and mind.
